Do you know that a bike with a low seat, a good backrest and front pedals gives you much more effective power than an ordinary one (to say nothing about a fairing)?

A race bent
To know more about it, see : http://www.airodin.com.

The more the better, some people promote this transport solution...

3 wheeler with pedals : http://velomobile.free.fr (plus electric motor if needed...)

Velomobile

And closer to a small car : Twikewww.twike.com.
The main idea of this one is that you pedal to keep the battery in charge, so you don't have to give all you can to go uphill, and you keep pedalling when waiting for the green light, so you don't get cold muscles. You just choose your pedalling pace as it suits you, and the battery does the real job. Quite smart.
Very high tech, but maybe a little expensive. Good for Schwarzenegger... The video on their site is nice to see.

By the way, don't you think it's a shame, all that dope problems dumping around cycling races ? Why do they forbid technical improvements, instead of keeping "eyes wide shut" in front of medical experiments ? As a very ordinary cyclist, I would like to see a no limit Tour de France, with really modern bikes, where dopes would really be banned. And maybe people would talk more about bikes and partly forget the cyclists, so they would feel less need to be above their best.
At the moment, ordinary people can choose between beautiful bikes similar to the champions and recumbants that would give them better performances for the same price, but they are fooled by the TV and papers always showing the unefficient-but-rules-complient race bikes.
We need a (pacific) bike revolution !
